Magnificent Michoacan

Since our pueblo (town) is located over half-way down the Mexico terrain, we have had the pleasure of seeing several states in Mexico. Crossing the border in Nogales Arizona, we traveled through Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco and then into Michoacan. My husband's first choice is always to drive; he loves to enjoy God's creation for each areas' uniqueness.
During our 1st flight as a family to California in 2006, I learned how much I detest flying. The barf-bag and I were great companions. This experience served Mike well; I was more than happy to pile into our mini-van with our four vivacious teenagers to drive over 3,000 miles, one way.

Michoacan is absolutely breathe-taking. All of the other Mexican states are beautiful in their own way, (isn't that the cosher way to say it?). Most travelers never make it this far into Mexico, hugging the closer beach/tourist towns. I exhaled out a sigh of relief when I saw Michoacan. The other states I have seen cannot compare to Michoacan. It is alive with exotic greenery, mountains, and lakes. Living in lush Willamette Valley has spoiled me a bit. I marvel at God's providence. There is no other place in Mexico I'd rather be than La Huacana, Michoacan.
