I was delighted when Molly brought home Gwen on the second day of school. Every since, the two girls have been connected at the hip. Gwen is a very nice young lady and speaks no English. This is a real plus. Molly and Gwen are constantly learning each other's language. They have to work hard to be friends. In fact, Gwen is constantly teaching our whole family.
Gwen and her parents invited our whole family to go out to dinner on Friday night. Since her parents don't speak any English either, we had a very quiet evening. No, not really. (It's never quiet with the Knutz's!) Mike is good at making conversation even if people can hardly understand him. Both of Gwen's parents are teachers in our community.
Hi guys, we met you at the Tesoro Ixtapa. We were the two gals lounging at the to of the steps either the day you left or the day before you left. You gave us your blog address and I'm going to be following it closely. Kudos to you for taking this adventure. You'll also be included in my prayers, Maureen,
Maureen, It is fantastic to hear from you! I have thought about you several times after leaving Ixtapa hoping I would hear from you soon. You and your friend seemed so interested in our stories, I felt for sure you would enjoy the blog. It was a blessing to connect with Amerians - a touch from home. Thank you for your prayers! Without God´s people praying for us, I´d feel much less confident about being here. God is truly holding me up.
How was your vacation in Ixtapa? I hope you were able to relax and enjoy it´s beauty. (Tesoro was so busy! We switched to Royal Holiday cause they offered us a deal, ending up staying an additional three nights than planned).
Recently our family visited a resort town named Ixtapa. We were delighted to get to visit with the many Americans on vacation. These Americans were interested in the details of our lives in Mexico. A common question was, "Aren't you concerned for your family's safety?" Recent news had reached them about the the gang activity in a nearby town.
My answer was "No, God had told us 20 years ago that we would be taking this trip. And, if..." and one lady finished my sentence for me, "God had brought you to Mexico, than He will protect you while you are here."
Couldn't have said it better myself!
